A Grown Up’s Gap Year – ISSUE #4 – Cue the confetti!

Hello and Happy New Year (nearly), lovely readers*

Another year whooshed by in a blink – as you can see I am a week behind with the book launch – the week before 25th December was THE DATE. That has been and gone, however a reminder, things don’t always go according to plan. Adapting to different circumstances a key message as we…

Cue the confetti!

A Grown Up’s Gap Year, my mid-life guidebook, officially hits (Amazon) shelves today, Monday 30th December 2024, my 57th Birthday! Quite poignant; with perseverance and ‘never too old’ right up there.

You have so generously followed along on this journey. Thank you, truly thank you.

Special Offer: Buy A Grown Up’s Gap Year and Gift One to a Friend!

To celebrate, I want to offer you a special opportunity to share the book with a friend.

While Amazon doesn’t allow direct ‘Buy One, Get One Free’ offers, here’s what I’d love to do:

  • Simply purchase a copy of A Grown Up’s Gap Year through Amazon, then send me a screenshot of your receipt and/or a review via email or Instagram DM.

  • Provide your preferred mailing address, and I will send you a FREE copy for a friend in mid-January (once my publisher is back on deck).

This is my way of saying thank you for your support and helping spread the message of reinvigoration, joy, and possibility for mid-life women everywhere.

As shared in the stories and wisdom of my wonderful book Contributors.

I wrote this guidebook in the hope you see it as your permission slip, to claim space for YOURSELF…

A Sneak Peek…

“I confess I was slow to ascribe the moniker ‘mid-life.’ A 50th birthday came and went with little fanfare amid hormonal teens, my own hormones (perimenopause symptoms, in hindsight), an empty nest (then kidults back in the nest), a sense of whooshing time.

Then, one morning, the sinking realisation: I was 54, at the top of everyone’s ‘person we need’ pyramid but the bottom of my own. Thus began a yearning for space – figuratively and literally. I dreamt of soaring. Of my own expanse.

THEME FOR 2025 – JUST WEAR THE BIKINI

A Grown Up’s Gap Year Magazine

WELLBEING

Less ‘New You,’ more ‘reinvigorated you’. We’ll look at what’s already working and tweak the rest for sustainable wellbeing. I’ll experiment with different regimes and report back so you don’t waste money or time.

ADVENTURE

Whether closer to home or far-flung, nature-based activities will feature heavily. Early in 2025, I’ll have obtained my Shinrin Yoku guiding certification (Forest Bathing) – so expect exclusive access to wellbeing retreats (do I spy plans afoot in The Whitsundays …), expert interviews, and ways to find awe and novelty in your everyday.

LIFESTYLE

In 2025, let’s make it a habit to say YES to new adventures and ourselves. 365 days of ‘just wear the bikini’ if we decide that’s what floats our boat. This isn’t about abandoning responsibilities but remembering to put our oxygen mask on first. We’ll also look at streamlining your lifestyle – keep what you love, ditch the rest.

CHIC

Being chic and living a life in style isn’t about trends or spending a fortune. We’ll chat to women I discover in my travels – Chic Locals – doing interesting things in their neck of the woods. I’ll share their lifestyle secrets for looking and feeling fabulous along the way.

Thank you for being part of this journey. I’m so excited to share A Grown Up’s Gap Year guidebook, the upcoming issues of A Grown Up’s Gap Year Magazine, and A Grown Up’s Gap Year Podcast with you.

2025 with the mantra, ‘Why Not, Now’!

See you for our next issue in January.

Love & hugs
