Why Visit?

The COMO Uma Canggu Bali exudes coastal charm. Conveniently situated beachfront, within easy reach of Canggu town. Lovely cooling white is what strikes me immediately upon arrival; the lobby, the rooms. Natural materials, striking architecture – a serene sanctuary.  As you would expect of a COMO Hotel, emphasis is on the environment – garden greenery is vast.

A great surf school and relaxed vibe public areas make this a perfect ‘unwind’ spot. The COMO Beach shack is likely where you will spend most of your time. An adjacent pool, gently swaying suspended lounges, cool music, and superb healthy menu in the aqua tiled restaurant make for a a perfect spot to hang.

The rooms are well appointed and elegant with all the mod cons and comfort you need. My pick the pool adjacent ones.

To Ponder

COMO Uma Canggu is a great Hotel for families – keep this in mind if you are booking during school holidays and don’t have ‘young ones in tow’.At other times honeymooners love the Hotel.

We Like

Plenty of options to stay active. A huge gym with plenty of strength equipment, yoga studio, pilates studio (reformers too – an incredibly welcome addition to a resort fitness space).

COMO’s renowned Shambhala Spa offers signature treatments to ensure your stay is a relaxing recharge.

The Verdict

Four star ‘green heart’ – a property delivering Wellbeing options, set beachfront, in the thriving Canggu area.

All the facilities and a superbly equipped gym/yoga studio.  Yet this Como property is not what I would consider a ‘retreat’ –  during school holidays it naturally becomes family friendly and this detracts from the ‘retreat’ essence in the true sense.  Head to Ubud if serenity and Ommm is your priority.

** Our visit for just a few hours (site inspection and luncheon) – observations are in this vein.
